ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Dorset Classic offers a memorable day of rallying through one of England’s most picturesque coastal counties. The event begins in the historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury before heading south through rolling countryside and charming villages en route to the dramatic Jurassic Coast. Crews will enjoy a relaxed lunch at the characterful Square & Compass in Worth Matravers, a centuries-old inn famed for its locally brewed ales and stunning sea views. The afternoon section sweeps along the scenic coastline near Swanage, offering a mix of coastal roads and inland lanes that perfectly complement the day’s navigational challenges. With its unique blend of rugged cliffs, open countryside, and classic pub hospitality, the Dorset Classic delivers a truly unforgettable rally experience.
CHARACTERISTICS
VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY
Any three or four-wheeled vehicles built before December 31st, 1999 are eligible for the challenge.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The Dorset Classic is perfect for first-timers or anyone simply looking to enjoy their classic car in a fun, low-pressure environment.
TYPES OF ROAD
The Dorset Classic will take place predominantly on asphalt and lightly gravelled roads, rougher roads and surfaces will be avoided wherever possible. There will be regularity sections and special tests. These special tests will be held on private land.
HOSPITALITY
Coffee, lunch and a buffet dinner are provided during the rally and any allergies, specific dietary requirements, or religious preferences will be catered for (subject to prior communication).
NAVIGATION
The route will be defined in a detailed tulip Road Book and an overview map of the route will also be provided.
ENTRY FEE
£300 per crew for the rally only
ON EVENT SUPPORT
Although mechanical support will be available throughout the event, the ability to carry out regular maintenance on your own car is essential. Should you need to be transported by truck we will help as much as we can, but all responsibility, including payment, rests with the competitor.
SATURDAY 6TH JUNE | RALLY
The rally begins in Shaftesbury, a characterful town perched high above Dorset’s countryside. From there, the route heads south, through quiet rural roads, toward the dramatic Jurassic Coast.
Crews will pause for a memorable lunch at the iconic Square & Compass in Worth Matravers, a cliffside pub known for its rustic charm and sea views.
The afternoon loop offers coastal vistas and undulating countryside near Swanage, blending navigational tests with relaxed, scenic driving. A truly distinctive rally that captures the essence of Dorset—from inland hills to windswept shores.
